The Anderson County Family Justice Center:

  • Collaborates with more than 30 Community and Government agencies to help victims get to safety

  • Is free and confidential

  • Help with Orders of Protection

  • Can connect you to an advocate and/or law enforcement

  • Offers a safe space to talk with an advocate and/or counselor

  • Offers safety planning

  • Provides a location to talk with a police officer in a quiet and secure setting

  • Assists in finding emergency shelter

  • Assists with transportation to court and emergency shelter

  • Can help with immediate necesseties in emergency situations

  • Provides a location to meet with a prosecutor

  • Provides referrals to many other agencies

  • Helps with resume writing and can connect you to job services

  • Provides victims with a safe space where they can begin to heal from their trauma

A Few of Our Services

  • Safety Planning

    A Safety Plan is a plan of action to help keep you safe from an abuser. Although you cannot control an abuser’s behavior or use of violence, you can plan how you will respond to future violent or abusive events by having a safety plan in place. The most important thing for domestic violence victims is safety.

  • Danger Assessments

    A Danger Assessment helps determine the level of danger a victim has of being killed by their intimate partner. It is free and available to anyone. The Danger Assessment has been proven to prevent homicides, is based on research, and was developed in collaboration with domestic violence victims.

  • Access to Shelter

    Emergency shelter ensures the safety of survivors who are fleeing domestic violence from an intimate partner by providing free, safe and anonymous shelter, and a variety of other services. Emergency shelter is available on an immediate basis.

  • Orders of Protection

    An Order of Protection is an order signed by a judge that tells someone who is harming you to stop or face legal consequences. It offers civil protection for victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and stalking.

  • Counseling

    An abusive relationship can leave lasting marks of all kinds. Counseling can help victims of abuse break the cycle of abuse and help remove isolation. Counseling sessions also provide a safe and confidential environment for survivors to express their feelings, thoughts, and fears.

  • Advocacy

    Victim Advocates are available to provide assistance with orders of protection, accompany victims to court, conduct danger assessments, and develop safety plans.
